A hidden sanctuary lives between De Luz and La Cresta in our Murrieta mountains. Gemini Moon Ranch is more than an escape from the hustle; it is an entrance into preserved history and whimsical landscape. This unsuspecting hacienda is concealed by ancient oak trees that bring visitors into another realm of peace and beauty.
The ranch is a living mosaic where every architectural detail tells a story.
During the late 70s and 80s, local Temecula cowboy Robert Morris began transforming these 5 acres into a masterpiece. Walking through the grounds is like stepping into a curated gallery of reclaimed history.
You will find grand lights salvaged from the old San Bernardino Train Station and windows that once graced the original Murrieta Hot Springs.
Even the foundations feature granite sourced from the very mines that first drew people to settle in this town.
Born in 1933, Robert Morris was the creative force behind several iconic landmarks, including the original signs for Old Town Temecula entrances and the very first bank on Main Street.
His spirit lives on through the infrastructure he built with scrap metal, repurposed wooden barns, and multi-material structures. Upholding items like the 100 year-old antique Ford Motor Company garage doors, the ranch stands as a unique testament to a man who was a good steward of legacy and land.

The current owners, Tracy and Pete, have a story rooted in destiny. Sitting down with the couple offered a rare glimpse into the ranch’s history, the kind of nuanced local lore that remains hidden unless you’re willing to look closer at the finer details.
Following the Maui fires, they felt a strong pull to return to the area. Tracy and their business partner are both Geminis, and they later discovered that Morris was a Gemini as well. Pete is their moon and a natural fixer, making them the perfect stewards to honor the historical complexity of the property at 44050 El Prado Rd. The very wood with scratches from the old pig farm speaks to the authentic, lived-in history they are dedicated to protecting.
As a 501(c)(3) non profit, the ranch is now a dedicated hub for community wellness. Visitors will soon be able to explore educational walkways featuring native plants and can now join volunteer days dedicated to removing invasive species. The ranch also hosts a monthly Supper Club every first Friday, bringing locals together for live music, food and wine, and storytelling.
This shift to a community-driven sanctuary has allowed Tracy and Pete to foster meaningful connections, such as their work with special needs adults, and the hosting of a local special needs organization’s original short film Face to Face.
Every fragment of the ranch acts as a silent witness to Morris's life, with recycled materials carrying generations of history into this modern sanctuary. Every room, barn, and weathered tile sparks a persistent curiosity.
The most obscure detail? The bathroom riddle. At first glance, it appears to be a mundane mechanical closet housing a water heater. But for those who know to look closer and shift just the right pieces, the true, clever brilliance of Robert Morris reveals itself in a hidden architectural secret.
The estate is currently available as a vacation rental on Airbnb. If you take the time to look closely during your stay, you might just uncover these architectural secrets tucked away within its walls!

Recently, a contractor who had previously worked on the property shared with Pete that Morris had laid his cherished Great Dane, Blue, to rest on the ranch grounds. This revelation took on a deeper meaning when Pete, while searching for an environmental light his own pet had misplaced, stumbled upon a weathered collar. The tag read "Clear (Blue) Robert Morris". Today, that collar is preserved on a cross outside their home, serving as a poignant memorial to the enduring legacy of the Morris family.
Today, the spirit of joyful gathering continues with events including paint-and-sip evenings and relaxing sound baths. Soulful Sunday is hosted bi-monthly by Le Moon Events to bring wellness and community to the grounds. They are constantly adding more to the calendar, ensuring the ranch remains a space for neighbors to connect and create. Whether you are seeking historical insight or just some peace under the ancient oaks, Gemini Moon Ranch embodies a perfect marriage of past and present, waiting to welcome you home.
